William “Gil” John Angrove, age 93 of Macomb, passed away on October 15, 2020.
William, or “Gil” as he was well known by, was born on May 22, 1927 in the state of New York. As a young man, Gil attended art school where he honed his craft and excelled in the many mediums that he would create. His love of art continued throughout his life, and he would produce many works though his paintings and stained glass. Gil was also a dedicated worker at the Ford Motor Company in customer relations for 32 years before he retired. In the 1950’s, Gil met the love of his life, June Rhodes, at the golf course. They were both enjoying a round of golf when Gil spotted June, and it was love at first sight. In 1952 they married, and together shared 68 years of happiness. Throughout the years Gil and June raised five children; Cindy, Bill, Kathy, Ken, and Peggy. Gil also had many hobbies that he enjoyed; playing golf, square dancing, reading, solving cross word puzzles, watching the Detroit Tigers, and giving out some of his famous one-liners for a laugh. Gil will be forever remembered for his funny nature, and warm loving spirit.
Beloved husband of 68 years of June Angrove; cherished father of Cindy (Darrell) Vibbard, Bill (Kay) Angrove, Kathy (Raymond) Ahonen, and Peggy (Bill) Devich; dear brother of Rosemary Turchin; proud grandfather of Elizabeth, Joe, Jenny, Lauren, Katie, Kevin, and Billy; loving great-grandfather of 6.
He was preceded in death by his loved son Kenneth Angrove.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 21 from 2 – 6PM.
