William Richard Thompson, age 79 of Sterling Heights, passed away on October 6, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family.
Bill was born on March 15, 1942 to Ralph and Marjorie Thompson in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Bill proudly joined the United Stated Marine Corp, where he served his county with dedication and loyalty. Bill was also a proud mason, and past Master for many years. He was a hardworking man, and for many years was a Employee Assistant Rep. at Ford Motor Company where he retired from as well as the past president of UAW local 2280. Bill was at his happiest when he was with his family, surrounded by the beauty of nature at their special spot in St. Ignace. A special place that for years, he and his beloved wife Mary Beth Thompson would travel for their anniversary (often accompanied by their loving children and grandchildren). He also loved golfing, owned many dear horses over the years, and created countless pieces of stained-glass artworks.
Bill will be forever missed by all who loved him.
