William Stanley Hill, age 90, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away on March 28, 2026.
Born on May 13, 1935, William was a man shaped by hard work, strong roots, and a deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful moments in life.
William dedicated much of his life to working on the railroads as a brakeman, a career that reflected both his work ethic and his enduring connection to the rhythm of the rails. In later years, he spent over two decades managing a condominium complex, where he built lasting relationships and became a familiar, trusted face to many through his work and daily interactions.
He was a gifted storyteller, known for sharing memories of his past with warmth and humor. Whether recalling days on the railroad or moments from years gone by, he had a way of bringing stories to life that kept those around him listening closely. William was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, rarely missing a chance to enjoy the game and cheer on his team.
Above all, William was a kind and genuine man who always wished the best for everyone he met. His presence was steady, his heart was generous, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Glenn (Anne); his sister, Judy.
He is lovingly survived by his children, Denise Trotto (Franco), Katherine Hill (Dennis Millard), and Michael Hill (Rosemary); his sisters, Betty (Joe) and Pam (John); along with his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Fransisco, and Cassandra, along with many extended family members and friends.
