Virginia Mayer

Virginia Mayer, age 92 of Eastpointe, passed away on October 30, 2021.

Virginia was born on February 23, 1929 to Joseph and Theresa Campo in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Virginia met the love of her life, and future husband, Lawrence “Larry” Mayer at the Campo Dairy Bar that her father owned. They quickly fell in love and were married in 1965. Together they raised one daughter, Donna. Family was very important to Virginia, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Virginia was a wonderful mother and was so overjoyed to become a grandmother later in her life to her three grandchildren: Samantha, Mitchell, and Braden. Virginia will be forever remembered by all who loved her.

Beloved mother of Donna (David) Ernatt; proud grandmother of Samantha, Mitchell, and Braden; dear sister of William Campo, and Jacqueline Mayer. She was also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Virginia was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 33 years Larry Mayer, siblings Batista Campo, Salvatore Campo, and Leonard Campo, and parents Joseph and Theresa Campo.

Visitation on Tuesday, November 2 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral service on November 3, at the funeral home. Instate, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Procession to Resurrection Cemetery to follow for committal payers and burial.
