Virginia Cecelia Grzadzinski passed away on March 12, 2026. Viginia came into this world on New Years day 1928. The first baby born in Macomb County that year.
She was predeceased by husband Joseph and siblings Mildred and Marvin. She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory. She is survived by her brother Celestine "Mike" and devoted children Claretta, Carey, Leah, Gerald and Marciann. She was a proud Grandma to Joey, Jackie, Riley, Logan, Rebecca, Allison, Sarah, Ian, Sophie and cherished great grandma to Emma, Lucas, Wesley and Cecelia. Also her favorite grandson-in-law, Paul
Early in her youth she was introduced to Hawaiian steel guitar music which was a lifelong love. At the young age of 14 she was already traveling to Detroit to play piano for the tap dancing classes. This resulted in many lasting friendships with fellow musicians. She mastered several instruments with the upright bass becoming "her baby". Her love of music continued through her 98 years and she participated in many bands, conventions, shows and teaching along with beloved "jam" sessions.
She dabbled with cake decorating, ceramics, china painting and loved to dance. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir.
She worked at the Tank Arsenal during the war and was a clerk for Macomb Township for over 30 years. Virginia enjoyed traveling beginning with family camping, traveling the United States, trips to Hawaii and many pilgrimages during her later life.
Her faith was her anchor and she strived to provide her children with a good Catholic education and foundation along with strong beliefs and moral values based in God's teaching.
Virginia's family was most important in her life and she instilled that belief in all of us and many others. She lived life with strength and unwavering independence from beginning to end.
She was deeply loved by those around her. The love she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
