Valerie Loretta Dusty, a loving mother, cherished Nana, and beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and most loyal friend, passed away at McLaren - Macomb peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on August 30, 1971, in Detroit, Val was the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Grace (Cafagna) Terry.
She took pride in her sons and embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with them and her grandchildren. An avid sports fan, she was always present at the kids' sporting events, be it a wrestling match or baseball game, Val was always everyone's #1 fan, be it her own sons, her nieces, nephews, and even her neighbors. A cornerstone of the New Haven community, Val always stayed active in all the kids' activities.
A dedicated technician in the pharmacy industry at Wal-Mart, Val was also known for her hard work cleaning houses. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in watching the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers, spending time in the pool catching a tan, and enjoying a refreshing Diet Pepsi. Val loved crafting and had a passion for capturing precious moments with her camera, ensuring that life's events were forever remembered. A beacon of warmth and grace, Val never knew a stranger and treated everyone as her own.
To carry on her legacy, Valerie leaves her four children, Thomas (Brandi) Cronin, Andrew (Kaylee) Dusty, Tyler Dusty, and Trevor Dusty, and the father of her children, David Dusty. She was the most loving and supportive Nana of Benjamin Cronin, Luca Quarrella, Nathan Cronin, and Charlotte Cronin. Val will forever be missed by her sisters, Michele (Michael) Keys, Annette (Frank) Russel; brother, Clifford (Jennifer) Terry; brother-in-law, Carmen DiTrapani, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Val was welcomed home to Heaven by her grandparents, Valerio and Ida Cafagna, and sister, Tracey DiTrapani, whom she loved dearly.
