Thomas A. Stotz
October 2, 1956-June 18, 2026
Thomas, age 69 of Chesterfield, passed away to be with his Lord on June 18, 2026. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Thomas was born October 2, 1956 to Tony and Mary Stotz in Ironwood, Michigan. He wanted to be a lawyer from an early age, largely due to seeing the injustices of the iron mines in which his father worked. Thomas attended Northern Michigan University and it is there that he met the love of his life Pamela.
To be with his soulmate, Tom left the UP and entered law school at Wayne State University. They married on May 24, 1980. Together, Tom and Pam had two children Zachary and Abigail. They raised them in the small town of New Haven and loved rural living. Tom entered the Michigan State Bar in 1981. Tom loved his family and he loved the law. He loved spending time with his family and helping others. He served on many committees for charitable associations, including Hearts for Homes and Lakeshore Legal Aid. In his spare time, he loved going to the movies and reading, primarily books about lawyers and historical figures. At age 56, Tom became a grandfather for the first time. He adored his grandchildren and being a grandfather was truly one of his favorite things to be. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, advocate, and friend.
Loving husband of 39 years to Pamela; dear mother to Zachary (Morgan) Stotz, and Abigail (Bradley) Johnson; proud grandfather of Noah Stotz, Charlotte Johnson and Nathan Johnson.
A memorial service to honor Tom’s life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Mt. Clemens on August 8, 2026 at 11 am.
