It is with heavy hearts but warm memories that we celebrate the beautiful life of Theresa Marie Cochell, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 62.
Born on May 15, 1962, in Ferndale, Michigan, to John and Celeste (Bosak) Beaver, Theresa lived a life filled with joy, happiness, and laughter.
Theresa was a devoted wife of 34 years to her late husband, Bill, whom she met during their graduation from Oakland University in 1985. Theresa and Bill would go on to raise three beloved children together: David, Kaylee, and Emmelyn. Theresa loved nothing more than her family and was a wonderful wife and mother. Her deep love for family was evident in everything she did. She was a proud “dance mom,” an avid cooking enthusiast known for her delicious desserts and homemade spaghetti, and took immense joy in hosting Christmas Eve celebrations filled with cherished family recipes. She had a unique talent for decorating and a passion for turning any gathering into a warm and welcoming occasion.
A proud graduate with double bachelor's degrees in Communications and English, Theresa loved books and could often be found with her nose buried in a novel. Her appreciation for the arts was evident through her frequent visits to plays, musicals, and movies, often accompanied by family and friends who adored her infectious smile and laugh.
An active participant at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church for 25 years, Theresa found comfort in her faith and community. She was a member of the grief group at fellow parish St. Therese of Lisieux that allowed her to connect with others who needed support. Her kindness, protective nature, and unwavering strength shone brightly in her life, embodying the very essence of compassion.
Theresa was also a "dog mom" who loved spending time outdoors—whether she was traveling to the beach or simply enjoying a peaceful moment in her backyard. She loved to explore and was especially fond of trips to the family cottage in Port Sanilac and celebrating her wedding anniversaries in Frankenmuth, where she enjoyed the local wines and atmosphere. With a love for music, she played the piano and organ, and sang karaoke with her sister, Gina, filling the air with harmony.
In celebrating Theresa's life, let us remember her tenacious spirit, warmth, and unwavering love for both family and friends. She always believed that butterflies and birds were signs from her beloved husband, reminding us that love endures even after loss.
