It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Suey Mon Yung, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who departed this life on September 5, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in China, Suey brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. She embraced life with a vibrant spirit, sharing her love for family, cooking, and the simple pleasures of everyday moments.
Suey married her devoted husband, Hong, and together they raised three wonderful children: Gary (Maggie), Gar (Joann), and Diane (Hing). She was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren—Ann (JD), Barry, Rachel, Vincent, Athena, Amanda, and Jason—who were her pride and joy. It was through these family bonds that Suey found her greatest fulfillment.
In 1990, Suey and her family made their way to Michigan, where she thrived professionally as a chef and entrepreneur. Her passion for cooking extended beyond the kitchen, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that brought loved ones and friends together. A lover of shopping and the vibrant city of Toronto, Suey embraced life with a zest that inspired everyone around her.
Suey leaves behind her beloved sibling, Yanho, and a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her influence will forever resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
