Stella Mary Bown

Stella Mary Bown, aged 87, of Harrison Twp, passed away on August 30, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family.

Stella was born on June 4, 1937, to Lucian and Helen Hunt. She attended Lakeview High School, where she met her beloved husband, Richard Bown, whom she married on June 18, 1955. Together they raised three children, Colleen, Mike, and Ron, in a home filled with love and warmth.

Family meant everything to Stella, and she found great joy and purpose in being a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her culinary talents were legendary, with her delicious meals and beautifully crafted baked goods bringing joy to all who knew her. Stella's hard work extended beyond the home as she supported her husband in his carpentry business and also worked for a time at Mount Clemens Pottery and as a Real Estate agent.

Stella's passion for gardening and social nature endeared her to many, and her kind and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. The memories she leaves behind will be cherished by her family and friends.

Stella's impact will always be remembered, and her light will continue to shine through those she loved and touched.

Beloved mother of Colleen (Ron Schulte) Gingas, and Ron (Angela Levitan) Bown; loving grandmother of Jamie (Bret) Eastman, Jessie Gingas, Paige Welsh, and Luke Bown; proud great-grandmother of Denver George; dear sister of Bobbie; cherished mother in law of Debbie Bown.

Stella is reunited with her loving husband Richard Bown, son Mike Bown, granddaughter Jennifer Gillie, her parents, and numerous siblings.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 5 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Burial to take place on Friday, September 6 at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East at 12:00 PM.
