Shirley Ann Aleo, age 83 of Sterling Heights, passed away on October 4, 2021.
Shirley was born on August 9, 1938 to Edmund and Emily Krist in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Shirley met the love of her life and future husband, Salvatore Aleo. They married in 1957, and together they raised three beloved children: Therese, Denise, and Salvatore. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother and great-grandmother later in her life to her cherished 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Shirley adored warm weather and loved to visit Florida where she lived for some time while she was growing up. She also loved to garden and was known to many as a fabulous cook. Family meant the world to Shirley, and having her family around her was very important. To her family, she was one of the strongest women they knew. She never let anything get in her way to enjoy her life and to do the things she loved. She will be forever remembered by all who loved her.
Beloved wife of 64 years to Salvatore Aleo; cherished mother of Therese (Doyle) Steil, Denise Aleo, and Salvatore (Janet) Aleo; dear sister of Lynn (Julia) Krist; proud grandmother of Doyle (Lori) Steil, Matthew (Elizabeth) Steil, Amanda Steil (significant other Keith Robinson), Anthony (Teresa) Caperton, Sarah (Ryan) Zemke, Katherine (Tom) Braun, Nicole (Jeff) Edwards, Salvatore Aleo, and Joseph (fiancée Alayna Karsten) Aleo; loving great-grandmother of Leo Steil, Juliana Steil, Aaliyah Robinson, Zachary Zemke, Emma Zemke, Alyssa Braun, Kailie Braun, Thomas Braun, Benjamin Caperton, Alex Edwards, and Andrew Edwards.
