Sharon Louise Giannetti passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, at the age of 87.
Born on April 27, 1937, in Ferndale, Michigan. She was the cherished daughter of Harold (Nick) and Myrle Carter.
Throughout her life, Sharon was a devoted wife to John Giannetti, whom she lovingly married in 1968. Together, they raised five children - Gary, Nancy, John, Brian, and Jacqueline. Sharon found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother in her later years, relishing in precious family moments.
Fond memories showcase Sharon's passion for sports, particularly basketball and tennis during her youth at Lincoln High School in Ferndale. Her love for golf shined bright as she proudly achieved a hole-in-one at the St. Clair Shores Golf Club, a notable feat etched in history. A Detroit sports enthusiast, she cheered passionately for her favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.
Sharon's creative spirit was evident through her talent in sewing and crafting beautiful cross-stitch pieces. Music resonated with her soul, and she often found solace in playing the piano and dancing with her beloved husband.
Sharon will be forever loved and remembered.
Visitation to take place on Monday, May 6 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Tuesday, May 7 at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. In-state, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 10:30 AM. Procession to Resurrection Cemetery to follow, where committal prayers and burial will take place.
Beloved mother of Gary (Jaclyn) Giannetti, John (Deborah) Giannetti, Brian (Patricia) Giannetti and Jacqueline (the late Patrick) Lawrey; loving grandmother of Gina, Andrea (Tom Russo), Niccole (Curt McCloy), Jillian, Ryan (Nicci), Lindsey, Anthony, Olivia, Victoria, Elaina and Alexander; proud great-grandmother of Shelby, Sara, Julia, William, Tommy, Rocco, Gino, Valerie, Abel, Hazel, Michael and Curtis; dearest great-great-grandmother of Serena; cherished sister of Shirley Mantey and Jerry Carter. Sharon is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Sharon is preceded in passing by her beloved husband John Giannetti, daughter Nancy Giannetti and grandson Gregory Giannetti.
