Shane Spencer Obituary

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we grieve the loss of Shane Jeffery-Daniel Spencer, 29; through no fault of his own, a fatal car accident occurred on June 1, 2020.

Shane lived in Tampa, Florida and was born and raised in Macomb, MI. He is survived by his parents: Cynthia and Jason, his siblings: Taylor, Lauren, Madison, and Mason, his dog-children: Brady, Gronk and Zeus, along with countless other family members and friends. Shane attended Central Michigan University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Law and Economics in 2013. Shane then attended Florida State University College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 2016. While in law school, Shane made the Dean’s List and received the distinguished pro bono service award for his volunteer work with the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel. Following law school, Shane accepted employment at Cole, Scott, and Kissane, P.A.’s Tampa location in 2016. During his time at CSK, Shane worked fervently and tenaciously toward his goals and achievements. He is remembered at his firm as one of the brightest associates who shown kindness and consideration to all who surrounded him. This was not only in Shane’s professional life, but also in his personal life. Shane genuinely cared for each person in his life and was intentional with the friendships and relationships he built. He avidly worked to be the best friend, colleague, brother, and son that he could by providing others with endless joy and humor. He had the ability to speak with the speed of an auctioneer; which only worked against him because of others inability to keep up with him, resulting in him having to often repeat himself. However, that was Shane, he always lived life at a faster pace than most could. Shane’s devotion and love for sports, as well as, being Tom Brady’s absolute biggest fan was irrefutably unmatched by all. Tom Brady’s work ethic and dedication to football provided Shane with endless inspiration and motivation; which began to define Shane as a pre-teen and carried it with him into adulthood creating a legacy that will also go unmatched.

And with this I ask that you consider this quote,

“Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!”
