Sandy David Korich, Sr., aged 82, of Sterling Heights, peacefully passed away on December 4, 2023. Born on August 1, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, Sandy was the beloved son of Peter and Maryanne Korich.
Sandy dedicated many years of his life to serving his community as a devoted Detroit and later Sterling Heights Firefighter. His commitment to his profession earned him respect and admiration from both his colleagues and the community he served.
In his spare time, Sandy had a passion for cars, particularly attending the Woodward Dream Cruise, where he could indulge in his love for automobiles, especially Corvettes. He also enjoyed participating in bowling leagues during his younger years, fostering new friendships and creating cherished memories.
Known for his social nature and infectious sense of humor, Sandy was a humble and friendly person who would always lend a helping hand to those in need. His generous and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community he so dearly loved.
During his winters, Sandy found solace and relaxation at his Arizona home, where he could bask in the warm sun and embrace the beauty of nature around him. It was a place where he could recharge during the long Michigan winters.
Above all else, Sandy was an immensely proud father and grandfather. His family held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Gathering around him brought him the greatest joy and comfort, and he leaves behind a legacy of unyielding love and devotion that will forever linger in the hearts of his loved ones.
Sandy Korich's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family members, including his beloved children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched with his kindness and compassion.
Loving father of Sandy (Erin) Korich, Karry Korich, and Sean (Jane) Korich; proud grandfather of Samantha, Natalie, Carmella, Kaitlin, Gabriella, Nicholas, and Megan; cherished brother of Dick (Carol) Korich, loving uncle of Dee Korich, and dear father-in-law of Jennifer.
