Sandra Virginia Bauer

Sandra Virginia Bauer, aged 81, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2024, in the presence of her loving family. She was born on February 5, 1943, to Rose and Santo Caruso in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Sandra attended Sacred Heart until her high school graduation and went on to obtain her nursing degree at Henry Ford, dedicating herself to a career in healthcare.

Throughout her professional life, Sandra served as a compassionate registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and Evangelical Senior Living, touching the lives of many with her care and kindness.

As a young woman, Sandra met the love of her life, Richard Bauer Sr., a meeting arranged by friends that blossomed into a lifelong companionship filled with love and devotion for 50 incredible years. Together, Sandra and Richard raised three children, Richard II, Brian, and Jennifer, weaving a tapestry of love and familial closeness over five decades of marriage.

Outside of her career and family life, Sandra found joy in simple pleasures, indulging in hobbies such as scrapbooking, coloring, going for leisurely drives, decorating her home, and nurturing her garden. She had a special place in her heart for her grandkids and was a doting pet parent to her beloved shih tzu, Brandi.

A compassionate soul with a gentle presence, Sandra will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, her memory forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

Beloved mother of Richard (Tammy) Bauer II, Brian (Victoria) Bauer, and Jennifer Bauer; cherished grandmother of Spencer Vora, Sara Bauer, Collin Vora, Emma Bauer, and Nicholas Bauer; loving sister of Sharon Thomas; dear cousin of Roselee Wohlgemuth; and loving owner of her cherished dog Brandi. Sandra is also survived by many loving family and friends.

 Preceded in passing by her loving husband Richard Bauer Sr.

Visitation to take place on Thurs., July 25 from 3-8PM with scripture at 7PM. Mass on Friday, July 26 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church. Instate 930 AM, Mass at 10AM. Burial to take place on Monday, July 29 at Great Lakes National Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
