Salvatore Donald Aleo, age 86 of Sterling Heights, gained his wings and joined his beloved wife in heaven on November 2, 2021.
Sam was born on May 18, 1935 to Salvatore and Rose Aleo in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Sam proudly joined the United States Navy, where he served his country with dedication and loyalty. After he left the Navy, Sam met the love of his life and future bride, Shirley Krist. They quickly fell in love and were married in 1957. Together they raised three beloved children: Therese, Denise, and Salvatore. Sam was a hard worker all his life and worked as a driver and salesman in beer distribution. He retired after 40 years. Sam never met anyone that he couldn’t talk to. He had a true gift for conversation and made countless friends throughout his life. When he was younger, Sam coached his children’s softball and baseball teams. He had a real love of baseball, and was a Detroit Tigers fan through and through. He also liked to bowl, play card games with friends, and go camping with his family. Sam will forever be remembered by all who loved him.
