It is with sadness in our hearts that we share Ryan William Rivard of Chesterfield Township, Michigan passed away October 21, 2025 in his home at the age of 50.
Ryan was born March 26, 1975, grew up in Shelby Township, Michigan, and graduated from Utica High School. Growing up, he was known as a class clown and for having a bit of a devil-may-care approach to life.
Ryan was a passionate person with strong opinions and not afraid to speak his mind with those he knew well. He often struggled with personal relationships, yet he was loved by many. Through a long term relationship, Ryan became a father to Lochlain Rivard, Ashton Burge, and BreAnna Jacobs, as well as a caring grandfather.
Ryan did not lead an easy life, learning many lessons the hard way and sometimes requiring multiple learning sessions. Over his life he worked in tool making, welding, ran a lawncare business, and became an HVAC professional. For a significant part of his life, he was a careful and avid gardener of a specific hybrid strain of bud that he enjoyed. He greatly enjoyed motorcycle riding and suffered a tragic accident in 2020 that he managed to nearly fully recover from. He had the pleasure of loving several special dogs and giving them rich, full, and spoiled lives.
Ryan is survived by his children Lochlain, Ashton, and BreAnna, parents Cheryl and Rodney Rivard, and sister Kori Rivard (Rick Kyle).
In lieu of a formal service, the family is having an intimate private viewing and celebration of life at the Lee Ellena Funeral Home in Macomb Township.
