Russelle "Rusty" Dellofano, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on December 23, 1946, in Windsor, Ontario, Rusty was the beloved child of Russell and Elizabeth Eastlake and cherished mother to Michael (Margie) and Noël (Eric).
Rusty led an extraordinary life, filled with warmth, compassion, and a zest for living. Throughout her 41-year career at Detroit Edison, she demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment. Her tireless work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Rusty was a loving and dedicated mother who raised two spectacular children (whom are both gifted in writing profound obituaries). Even though working full time, she always made time to support her children’s dreams and growth and made many sacrifices to ensure their happiness and success in life. She found immense joy in her children and enjoyed spending time with them along with their extended families and friends.
In addition to her children, Rusty liked traveling with friends and enjoyed new experiences and making memories with those she loved. Her passion was socializing with groups of friends; whether it be with the garden club at Camp Bentley, the girlfriends she golfed with, or just making jokes with strangers at the grocery store or restaurants. She was quick with a warm compliment and even quicker with a witty one liner.
A devoted member of the Church of St. Christopher, Rusty found solace and purpose in her faith. She tirelessly served her community by teaching catechism, participating in various church activities, and lending a helping hand to those in need.
Known for her selflessness, Rusty was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Whether it was providing support during times of hardship or simply being a listening ear, she had an innate ability to bring comfort and warmth to those around her. She touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and kindness.
Rusty's commitment to giving back extended beyond her immediate circle. She served as a valued member of the board at Camp Bentley, dedicating her time and energy to provide enriching experiences for children with special needs. Her commitment to the camp's mission of fostering joy and independance for special needs children will forever be remembered, and her contributions cherished. Donations can be made to Camp Bentley (https://campgracebentley.org) on Russelle’s behalf.
