It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Rudy York Roodbeen, age 86, who departed this world on June 23, 2026. Born on July 25, 1939, to Peter and Isabel Roodbeen, Rudy was a true lover of life and all its natural wonders.
Rudy’s zest for the great outdoors shone through in everything he did. Whether he was hunting in the crisp air of the north or casting a line by a tranquil lake, he found joy in the beauty of nature. A master gardener, he took great pride in nurturing his fruit trees, nut trees, and grape vines, sharing his harvests with family and friends. Rudy had a special spot in his heart for all creatures great and small.
As a dedicated Boy Scout Master, he instilled a sense of adventure and appreciation for the outdoors in countless young hearts. Rudy also had a love for baseball and anything cherry—especially cherry pie.
Rest peacefully, Rudy. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Beloved father to Richard (Latisha), Michael, and Susan (Joe); cherished brother to Leo (Joan), Henry, John, and sister-in-law Karen; proud grandfather to Richard (Stephanie), Sarah, Andrew, and LaAnna.
Joined in Heaven by his dear wife, Janet, his cherished parents Peter and Isabel, and his loved siblings, Paul (Alice) and Mary (Pete)
