Robert Ash "Popi", 71 of Roseville Michigan, passed away September 23,2023, at home surrounded by those who loved and adored him. He was born on September 4, 1952 to Mohammad (Nick) and Genevieve Ash (Rickwald) in Detroit, Michigan.
He met the love of his life as a young teenager and married Dora Black on December 11, 1971. They built a beautiful life together including the joy of raising three wonderful daughters. He took much pride in the loving family they created and many who knew Popi know how proud he was of his girls and the tremendous love he had for Nana. His greatest joy was being “Popi” to his grandkids.
He retired from General Dynamics after working as machinist for 22 years. He then worked for Fisher Corporation before opening his own company, R&D Transport. Popi enjoyed working hard and took honor in providing for his family.
While not working, you would find Popi camping, hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing or enjoying cheering his grandkids on at all their sporting events. He was a man of God and served others daily, this included listening and teaching but also feeding people. Food was Love. He was a man that lived well, laughed often and loved much, leaving this world a better place.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Dora Ash, children Robin Ash, Lynn Ash Longo (Kevin), Lori Ash Kozel (Joseph) grandchildren Robert Longo, Daniel Longo, Vincent Longo, Drew Kozel and Anna Kozel, siblings Daniel Kos, Paulette Jeannotte and Suezette Dispigna. In addition, Popi is loved by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Received in heaven by Christ Jesus, joined by his parents Nick and Genevieve Ash, brother Larry Ash and many sister/brother in-laws.
