Robert Edward Aitken

Robert E. Aitken died Wednesday, March 24 2021 peacefully and surrounded by family.

He was born February 26, 1929 in Pittsburgh Pa. where he met and married Theresa Rogers. They were married 61years. He retired from Dupont in 1987 after 40 years of service. He began his career as a sales clerk and retired as Global Director for the Automotive Finishes business. He was one of the first recipients of the distinguished Marketing Excellence Award given as recognition for his performance in restoring and revitalizing the automotive paint business.He was a life long Pittsburgh Pirate fan and will be remembered as a genuine “people person” who was always cheerful and would “light up a room” with his presence. He will be greatly missed.

 Bob was survived by his beloved children, Robert (Beth), Beth Ann (Michael, deceased), Douglas (Ginny), Susan (Joe), Amy (Andy), Stephen (Tracy), Nancy (Victor), 23 grand children and 23 great grand children. Bob was preceded in passing by his loving wife Theresa; siblings Agnes, Harold, Blanche, Clarence, Jack, Raymond,  and Mary Lou.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 29th at 12:00pm at St. Paul of Tarsus.
