With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Rita Terracciano, who left us on May 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Rita was born on March 31, 1941, to Gaetano and Elvira DiPilla, in the historic town of Pacentro, Italy, where she met her cherished husband, Adolfo. She brought her caring spirit, hard-working determination, and refreshing sass with her when she moved to Michigan permanently in 1966, where she would create a wealth of treasured memories.
Rita’s love and kindness truly shone through in her role as a nonna. She enjoyed every moment spent with her grandkids, cooking them five course meals on weekday evenings and showing them endless love and care. On every holiday, her hard work to make everything warm, special, and delicious created magic that her family will remember their entire lives. She had a way of making everyone feel at home, and always made sure no one left hungry, all while cracking the most surprisingly delightful jokes at unexpected moments.
For those of us blessed with knowing her, the home she created is at the core of some of our most beloved and warm memories. She abundantly shared with us her love for cooking, her affinity for finely crafted jewelry and trinkets, and her fondness for drawing delicate and colorful birds.
We are honored to carry Rita's spirit with us, and will forever cherish the time we spent with her.
Treasured wife of Adolfo; loving mother to Italia, Vitaliano (Monica), and Ascanio (Paige); proud grandmother to Alissa, Emmalyn, Dante (Laura), and Stefano; treasured sister to Teresa.
Joined in Heaven by her loving parents, Gaetano and Elvira, and her siblings Filomena, Maria, and Carlo.
