It is with heavy hearts and warm memories that we announce the passing of Richard Norman McDonald, age 70, on March 27, 2026. Born on May 2, 1955, to Richard and Marie McDonald, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Richard was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Therese, whom he married in September 1991. Together, they shared countless joyful moments, exploring the great outdoors and making cherished memories with family and friends. Richard had a passion for fishing and hunting, relishing every opportunity to immerse himself in nature. His love for sports, especially Tigers, Michigan sports and the Vols, brought him many hours of joy and camaraderie with others.
An enthusiast of family road trips, Richard loved traveling to Tennessee and heading “Up North” with his loved ones, creating wonderful memories along the way. Above all, he adored his grandchildren, Rudy and Kenzie, showering them with love and affection.
Richard is survived by his dear wife, Therese, his loving sister Sue Ellen (Phil) Wagner, his sons, Garrett (Jessica) and Rudy (Ashley), and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who held a special place in his heart.
Richard is joined in heaven with his cherished family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
