Richard Ronald Kuzmik

Richard Kuzmik, 80 years of age, passed on April 22, 2020 in his home in Macomb. Michigan. A celebration of Richard’s life and memorial mass will be planned for a later date.

Richard was born March 22, 1940 in Detroit Michigan to the late Casimir and Genevine Kuzmik.  He was the second oldest of five children, brothers Raymond and Robert precede him in death.  Richard grew up in Boyne Falls Michigan where his younger sister, Kathleen West, and brother Eugene Kuzmik still reside.

Richard married Frances Lipinski in May 1970. They raised two daughters, Laurie and Linda, while living in Detroit, Michigan and eventually moving to Sterling Heights, Michigan. Richard worked for Chrysler in their personnel department coordinating employee benefits. During his free time he enjoyed attending polka dances as a member of the Warren Polka Boosters, working in his yard caring for roses and various other seasonal flowers, and cross stitching. Upon retirement he continued to cross stitch and enjoyed baking and playing cards with friends and family.

Richard is survived by his wife, Fances Kuzmik; their daughters, Laurie Kuzmik and son-in-law Joseph Kardasz, Linda Stachowiak and son-in-law Mark Stachowiak along with grandchildren Anya and Katie.

The family would like to express their thanks to Beaumont doctors and nurses and doctors, nurses, and technicians at Fresenius Kidney Care who cared for Richard like family in his last years battling heart failure, kidney cancer, and kidney failure.
