Phillip was born on April 28, 1938, in Ann Arbor to Alvin and Dorothy (Bly) Kuehn. He met the love of his life, Phyllis Weber and they were married on July 20, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Clemens. The couple was blessed with four children.
Phillip was a barber for 30 years. During that time, he also began a career in the insurance business, going on to open his own insurance agency. He was previously active in the Lions Club. His hobbies included genealogy tracing his family’s ancestry back centuries ago, as well as gardening. Phillip was very proud of his family and was kind and caring to everyone he met. He took great pride in the fact that everyone knew him as a devout Christian.
Beloved husband of Phyllis, and father of Lorri (Sal) Manzella of Shelby, Gail (Paul) Liebgott of Troy, Gordon (Cheryl) Kuehn of Cadillac, and Matthew Kuehn of Mount Clemens, grandfather of David, Sarah, and Joseph, and great-grandfather of Vitoria and Londyn.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Dorothy, and his sisters, Virginia Stier, and Jean Scherer.
Visitation to take place on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral will be on Thursday, September 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Instate, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Clinton Grove Cemetery.
