Patricia Ann (Fox) Soboslay, age 79, of Shelby Township, Michigan, died peacefully Thursday, January 25, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born to Irwin and Rosemary Fox, December 26, 1944. She was the third in line among 10 siblings.
Pat attended all 12 years of primary & high school at St. Ambrose Catholic School, Detroit. She was socially active, a cheerleader and participated in many clubs and organizations. She made lifelong friends there and cherished those memories and friends.
After high school, Pat worked in downtown Detroit for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Shortly after high school she met and soon married the love of her life, Joseph Soboslay. They had a wonderful marriage and celebrated their 58th anniversary this past June. They were anxious to start a family- and lovingly welcomed their daughter, Beth Ann, and not long afterward their son, Jeffrey Joseph was born, completing their beautiful family of four.
Pat retired from BC/BS to raise her family, but became very active in school activities, crafts, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. She was extremely talented and creative making Christmas stockings for her family, as well as for all her nieces and nephews and many friends.
Pat’s greatest joy was her seven grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally and took great pride in all of their accomplishments. She loved following their sports activities, education and every aspect of their lives. They were the light of her life.
Pat was a devout Catholic and prayed constantly for her family and friends. She was the first person many people would call with a prayer request. Pat received her 5 Sacraments at St. Ambrose Church and was anointed shortly before her passing by her dear cousin, Father Ron Victor.
Pat joined Joe and Jeff working at the Catholic Supply House and loved every minute of it. She was the best customer greeter and loved getting to know their regular customers and their families. She was very fond of and cared greatly for all their employees.
Until recently, Pat never missed a party, family event, reunion or card game. She loved going to the casino with her mom and sisters, making bets with her dear cousin Lennie, hosting family and friends at the Cottage, and most of all keeping in contact with her family and lifelong friends.
Pat was preceded by her loving parents, Irwin and Rosemary Fox, dear brother David Fox, cherished in-laws Col. Walter Soboslay, William Soboslay, and Gloria Soboslay-all of whom are joyously welcoming her to God’s kingdom.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe, children, Beth (Rich) and Jeff (Marilyn), grandchildren- Sarah, Emily, Laura and Joseph Poronto, Steven, Michael & Justin Soboslay, her siblings James Fox (Donna), John Fox (Patty), Thomas Fox (Gina) Marilyn Blanche (Greg), Michael Fox (Sue), Barbara Perryman (David), Larry Fox (Lori), Steve Fox (Vicki), sister-in-law Joan Stratton, and Marilyn Kornmesser, brother-in-laws Michael Soboslay, Eugene Soboslay, and Ralph Soboslay (Tammy), numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and almost 100 cousins, all of whom she adored so much.
