Patricia Ann Smallridge

Patricia Ann Smallridge, age 86 of Macomb, passed away on August 21, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family.

Pat was born on July 13, 1935, to Robert and Elizabeth Ramsey in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Pat met the love of her life, and future husband, Ernest Donald Smallridge. They quickly fell in love, married, and raised Chris, Lisa, Steve, Sandi, and Dave. Together, the family became the ‘Magnificent 7’ as they were affectionately known by. Pat’s love of her family and children was overflowing, and she was known all around for her kindness to others. When her family was young, Pat would take her family camping, yearly trips to Florida to enjoy the sunshine, or just get in the car with her beloved husband Ernest and go wherever the road would take them. Once her children were in junior high, Pat’s need to care for others took her to nursing school where she took her classes at night. She worked at St. Josephs West Hospital for 20 years and was well known and loved by patients and staff alike. Pat retired in 1997, after 20 dedicated years at the hospital. Pat is a grandmother of 14 grandchildren, and gigi of 24 great-grandchildren. To say she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart and soul would be an understatement. She enjoyed every second she was able to spend with her grandchildren, and always made sure they received a special card from grandma at every holiday.

Pat will be forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved her.

Beloved wife of Ernest Donald Smallridge; cherished mother of Chris (Nancy) Smallridge, Lisa (Jeff) Castonia, Steve (Teresa) Smallridge, Sandi (Dean) Blevins, and Dave (Laura) Smallridge; proud grandmother of 14, and gigi of 24; dear sister of Barbara Buettner.

Pat was preceded in passing by her loving parents Robert and Elizabeth Ramsey, and brother Robert Ramsey.

Visitation on Tuesday, August 24 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 25 at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. In state, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Procession to Christian Memorial Cemetery to follow for committal prayers and burial.
