Palma Grasl Obituary

Palma Johanna Grasl, also known to some as Pam, went to be with the Lord at age 81 on May 4, 2020.

Palma was born on January 1, 1939, to Vito and Anna Pellegrino in Detroit, Michigan, and was the youngest of four children.  She began to be courted by a flirty butcher named William David Grasl and was unable to resist his charms or his Lord.  She loved both of them with all of her heart.  They married on August 8, 1959.  She worked tirelessly as a wife and mother for her family.  Together they had five children; Denise, David, Diane, Donald, and Dawn.  She will be remembered as a passionate worshipper of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She personified the joy of Lord wherever she went.  His countenance was forever upon her person.  You could not be in Palma’s presence and fail to recognize this happiness.  She just oozed His love.  She cherished sharing that love with her family and friends and whomever else would listen.  Her joy was further multiplied by the time she spent spoiling her beloved grandchildren, Wesley, Nicholas, Mitchell, and Alexa.

With her gift, Palma led her church body in praise and worship to the Lord for decades and is, most certainly, continuing today in heaven.  She was truly a woman of faith in God and His Word and was a prayer warrior.  Palma was equally devoted to her family.  She fed and cared for a family of seven without a complaint and, somehow, kept an impeccable home, inside and out.  As the kids grew up and left the house, she would lend a helping hand no matter what the task.  She was a fun-loving, generous person who went out of her way to always make sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

Palma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William David Grasl.  She leaves to her cherished memory her five children, Denise (Blake) Gardner of Washington Twp., David Grasl of Birmingham. Diane (Scott) Gross of Macomb Twp., Donald Grasl of Macomb Twp., and Dawn (Paul) Wargo of Ray Twp.  She is the proud grandmother of Wesley Gross, Nicholas Grasl, Mitchell Gross, and Alexa Grasl.  She was preceded in death by her father, Vito Pellegrino, her mother, Anna Pellegrino, her sister, Virginia Masucci (Earl), her brother Paul Lasala (Catherine), her sister Josephine Dunski, and sister-in-law Sandra Lasala.

She will be dearly missed.
