Nicki Hudik, mother, wife and grandmother, beloved by all who knew her, passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 65. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.
Nicki was born on May 31, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to her honored parents, George and Jean Skolas. Everyone's "favorite sister", she grew up in a large, loving family, with three brothers and countless cousins. Food was one of Nicki's love languages, and she loved nothing more than entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. Her home was always open to all those she loved. Her culinary skills are legendary, and her meals were a feast for the senses. Simply put, you could taste the love.
Nicki is survived by her husband, Tom Hudik, her mother, Jean Skolas, her children, Charity Davis-Custer and Henry Davis, his wife Jessica, and her beloved grandchildren, Callum Davis-Custer, Allie, and Max Davis. She is also survived by her siblings, Jim Skolas (Karen), John Skolas (Liz), Deno Skolas (Carol), her nieces and nephews, Dayna Skolas, Jacob Skolas (Brooke), Katie Sollena (Patrick), Andrew Skolas (Ashley), her best friends, Patty Smelser, her aunt, Helen MacDonald, cousins, Eric, Melissa, and Ian Macdonald, and an overwhelming number of people who she considered her family.
The vacancy her passing has left in the hearts of so many is a testament to her legacy. Nicki will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and love for life touched the hearts of everyone she met. She is now reunited with her father, George Skolas, and her grandparents in heaven.
