Mickey A. Roy

Mickey A. Roy, age 69 of Macomb, passed away on April 23, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Mickey was born on June 23, 1951 to Harold and Lorna Roy in Detroit, Michigan. Mickey was introduced to the love of his life and future bride, Lynn Roberts, at his cousin’s party. They quickly fell in love, and married in 1971 in Warren, Michigan. After high school, Mickey proudly joined the United States Marines Corp and served his country with dedication and dignity. After his time in the military, Mickey became a sheet metal worker in heating and cooling. He taught HVAC for many years at the at the local 80 training center. Mickey enjoyed teaching others and helping them gain knowledge and experience in their profession. He owned his own business Precision Aire and Water Balancing, and it was very fulfilling for him. 

Throughout Mickey and Lynn’s 54 beautiful years together they raised two daughters, Cammie and Khara. Mickey loved being a dad, and his girls were his pride and joy. He was active in all of their extracurricular activities, especially coaching them in softball for many years. He was overjoyed when he became a Papa to his six grandchildren; Matilyn, Lauryn, Kayla, Chase, Logan, and Brady. Mickey enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, golfing, and was a talented cross stitcher. Mickey’s easygoing fun personality will be missed by all who loved him.

Beloved husband of Lynn Roy; cherished father of Cammie (Clint) Adkins, and Khara (the late Odie) McClung; proud papa of six grandchildren; dear brother of Ricky (the late Kathy) Roy, Vickie Dhaene, Harold R. (Marjorie) Roy Jr., and Dean (the late Sheila) Roy; loved brother-in-law Bob Bader, sister-in-law Patty Roy, sister-in-law Wanda Roy, and Sue Roberts. He is also survived by many extended loved ones and friends.

Mickey was preceded in death by his loving parents Harold and Lorna Roy; siblings Jimmy, Dennis, Patricia Bader, and Bonnie (Ken) Robertson; father-in-law Lyle Roberts Sr. and mother-in-law Muriel Roberts; brother-in-law Gary Dhaene, Lyle Roberts Jr., and Dale Roberts; sister-in-law Shelia Roy and Kathy Roy.

Visitation to take place on Wednesday, April 28 from 2-8 PM. Funeral Service on Thursday, April 29 at Stoney Creek Church and 11711 26 Mile Road, Washington Twp 48094 . Instate, or gathering time 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM.

Mickey will be laid to rest at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
