Michael Joseph Zimmerman

Michael Joseph Zimmerman, age 65 of Shelby Twp., passed away on October 6, 2022.

Michael was born on April 14, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to Alfred and Josephine Zimmerman. Michael was the oldest and best brother of three siblings. In 1975, Michael graduated from Cousino High School where he played Football and Baseball. He would go on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Wayne State University. Michael was always known for being a hard-working man and was employed at Chrysler for 25 years where he worked in the Parts Distribution Center before retiring in 2017. The most important thing in Michael’s life was his family, the time he was able to spend with them, and the memories they all created. Michael’s easy-going personality allowed for him to effortlessly meet and talk to people, creating numerous friends throughout his life. Michael will be forever remembered by all who loved him.

Beloved father of Brittany Angell; loving brother of Dennis (Denise) Zimmerman, Thomas (Linda) Zimmerman and Lynn (Bruce) Binning; proud Papa of Kash and Walker; best uncle of Ashley, Andrew, Lisa (Anthony), Brooke (Brandon) and Zachary; great uncle of Peyton, Addison and Dominic. Michael is also survived by many loving family and friends. Michael was preceded in passing by his loving parents Alfred and Josephine Zimmerman.

Memorial Visitation to take place at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home (46530 Romeo Plank Rd Macomb, MI 48044) on Thursday, October 13 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
