Michael Lawrence Peplinski (Pep), age 63, of Macomb passed away at home August 7th, 2021.
He was born to Lawrence and Beverly (Raysin) Peplinski on September 18th, 1957 in Marlette, MI. He married his wife Donna Kay Hibbard in Savannah, GA on August 9th, 2011. Pep graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1979 and served as an officer in the United States Air Force and Michigan Air National Guard for 32 years, primarily as a command pilot in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. In combat, Pep commanded the 506th Operations Group and served as the base commander at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq in 2004. He retired as a Brigadier General in 2011 as the commander of the 127th Wing, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mount Clemens, MI. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 29450, the National Guard Association of the United States, the National Guard Association of Michigan, and the Airlift Tanker Association.
Pep is survived by his loving wife Donna Kay, his son Michael II (Brenda) and grandchildren Videssa, Ana, Halina, Michael III, and Kenneth, his son Jeffrey (Madison) and grandson Zachary, his stepson Nicholas Hibbard (Jennifer Jarman), his sisters Judy Gough (Rich), Lori Davis, and Cheri Peart, his brother Paul, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Beverly Peplinski, his late wife Peggy Videssa (Bass), his late mother-in-law Peggy Coker Bass, his sister-in-law Peggy Peplinski (Rexford), his father-in-law Russell Colvin, USAF (Ret.), and his brother-in-law Mike Peart.
