Michael DeBets, age 53, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his devoted wife and loved ones, at Henry Ford Hospital on August 28th,2023.
Michael was born to Michael and Julia DeBets on January 8th, 1970, in Grosse Pointe. He married the love of his life, Charlene, on May 5th, 1989, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Michael loved technology and made computers his career. He was an IT professional in innovation and digital health at Trinity Health for 25 years. He was respected by all peers and was chosen to represent the system at the White House for a meeting of key players forming the future of progressive healthcare.
Michael’s interests included cars, and was knowledgeable about all autos foreign, domestic and those in developmental stages. He enjoyed traveling every year with best friends Larry and Judy. He especially enjoyed climbing Black Rocks along Lake Superior in Presque Isle, Upper Peninsula. He loved his fur-babies Sasha, Ellie, Luna and grandfur-baby Willow. He enjoyed good food and inspired to cook at chef level. He pursued secrets of the trade through programs and online learning. Recently, he was deeply honored that a close Rwandan friend named his baby after him. Surely he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Especially for his ability to bring laughter into every life he touched.
Beloved son of Michael and Julia DeBets; loved stepfather to Joseph and Jeffery; Beloved grandfather/ buddy to Anna, Jack and Nick; also, Anthony, Taylor, Gina and Alicia; Uncle to Olivia, Natalie and Kate; cherished nephew of many Aunts and Uncles including Marcia; and dear cousins including Jennifer, Nicole and others.
Received in heaven by Christ Jesus, joined by his father Michael and brother Matthew as well as other family members including Aunt Gloria & Uncle Dan and Mother-in-law, Helen.
