MaryLou Manning, a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on April 15, 1928, in Litchfield, Illinois, to Carol and Alta, MaryLou’s early years were shaped by the warmth and love she shared with her grandmother Elizabeth in Litchfield. At the age of 13, MaryLou moved to Michigan with her mother and Hugh Mason, who legally adopted her. Hugh and MaryLou were very close and she called him, “Daddy” until he passed. In her youth, MaryLou’s path crossed with her high school sweetheart, Gerald Jesuale, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership, raising their daughter Lorann.
MaryLou spent her professional years as a dedicated data processor at Wayne County Community College, leaving a mark of efficiency and excellence in her work. Although faced with the loss of her beloved Gerald in the 1980s and later her dear husband Carol Manning, MaryLou found solace in cherishing the memories they shared. She continued to immerse herself in the joys of gardening, crafting, and the companionship of her beloved corgi, Buster.
MaryLou embraced her love for adventure and independence by joining 'The Nomads' travel group, exploring new places and creating cherished memories with fellow travelers. MaryLou found joy in starting each day with her trusty crossword puzzles, which she and Gerald (Jerry) had once delighted in solving together.
A woman of faith, MaryLou was active in her community at Cross Bible Church in St. Clair Shores, finding solace and community in her shared beliefs. Her artistic talents, including knitting, sewing, and leatherworking, were expressions of her creativity and attention to detail, traits that endeared her to all who knew her. As a devoted grandmother to her granddaughter Geri, MaryLou exemplified unconditional love.
Beloved mother of Lorann Jesuale; loving grandmother of Geri (Brandon) Jesuale-Rodd.
MaryLou was preceded in passing by her husbands Gerald Jesuale, and Carol Manning; and her cherished corgi Buster.
