Mary Katherine Stockford, known to many as Kay, peacefully passed away on February
2, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on May 29, 1936, to James and Martha Wilson
in Detroit, Michigan.
Kay's life was defined by her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She embarked
on a journey of love and companionship when she met Cedric Stockford, the man who
would become her cherished husband. Together, Kay and Cedric created a loving home
and raised six remarkable children, who were the pride and joy of their lives.
Family was the cornerstone of Kay's world, and she cherished every moment spent with
her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. From countless family breakfasts
filled with laughter and stories, to milestone celebrations and holiday traditions, Kay
treasured the time she shared with her loved ones.
In her younger years, Kay found solace in nature and enjoyed camping and visiting up
north. She had a special fondness for canines and always had a cherished four-legged
companion by her side. The unconditional love and loyalty of her furry friends brought
her immeasurable joy throughout her life.
Kay's faith was an integral part of who she was. Her deep and abiding connection to
Jesus Christ filled her spirit with peace and comfort. She found solace and strength in
her faith, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her.
The memory of Mary Katherine Stockford will forever be cherished by her beloved
family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of
love, kindness, and compassion will live on through the lives she touched.

Stockford; beloved grandmother of Peter, Isaac, Joel, Patrick, Tara, David, Shiela,
Derek, TJ, Miranda, Tyler, Justin, Patrick, Julie, Caleb, Mikaela, Jules, Bobby, Alex, and
Trinnity; loved great-grandmother of 20; cherished sister of Winifred Ann (Glenn), James
Eugene (Mary), Russell, and Martha Jo (Tim). She is also survived by many loving
nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Kay is preceded in death by her loving husband Cedric Stockford, and parents James
and Martha Wilson.
Visitation to take place on Tuesday, February 6 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM
service. Committal prayers and burial to take place on Wednesday, February 7 at
Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester at 2:00 PM - Luncheon to follow.
