Mary Jane "Pug" Jones

Mary Jane Jones (loving known as “Pug”), age 71, of Clinton Township, peacefully passed away on October 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 1, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth Hoover.

Growing up in Redford, Michigan, Mary attended Thurston High School in South Redford, where she became a beloved member of the Pom Pom Squad. Her spirit and enthusiasm lit up every performance, leaving a lasting impression on her fellow squad members and fans alike.

Mary’s greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother to her daughters, Christine and Kelly. She showered them with unconditional love and supported them in every endeavor. As a loving grandmother, Mary found immense happiness in attending her grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm.

Known for her vibrant personality, Mary had a feisty spirit that brought laughter and joy to those around her. She had a zest for life, enjoying the simple pleasures such as feeding the swans, geese, and squirrels that lived near her apartment, fostering a deep appreciation for nature's beauty.

In her leisure time, Mary found solace in the pages of mystery books, eagerly diving into the thrilling stories that transported her to different worlds. She also found joy in indulging in a bit of retail therapy by shopping on QVC and HSN, eagerly discovering unique finds and sharing her excitement with loved ones.

Mary Jane Jones will always be remembered for her vivacious spirit, fierce dedication to her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever serve as a beacon of inspiration and love.

Beloved mother of Kelly Gardella and Christine (Vincent) Ticconi; proud grandmother of Madison Gardella, Dominic Ticconi, and Gianna Ticconi; dear close friend to David (Colleen) Jones.

Mary is preceded in passing by her loving parents Nelson and Ruth Hoover.

Visitation to take place on Saturday, October 28 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM with a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM.
