Mary Richardson Obituary

Mary Richardson, age 71, passed away peacefully in Macomb, Michigan. Born in Decatur, Georgia, Mary made her way to Michigan with her family where she built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and purpose.

A proud graduate of Northwood University, Mary earned her Bachelor’s degree and went on to work for Ford Motor Company, where she devoted 32 years of service to the metro-Detroit area.

Her brilliance and dedication were recognized with multiple awards, including honors for inventions she created during her time with the company. Even in retirement, Mary never slowed down—she poured her energy into the things that brought her joy: family, faith, creativity, and adventure.

Mary was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She not only attended Bible study regularly, but she also graciously hosted sessions in her own home, welcoming others with warmth and wisdom. Her belief in God shaped every part of her life, her kindness, generosity, and compassion touched everyone she met.

She was a devoted mother to her son Christopher and daughter Jessica, and a beloved sister to Michael, Jerry, Tommy, and Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Al, and her sister Mary Ruth whom she spoke of with deep love and reverence.

Mary’s creative soul found joy in crafts of all kinds. From crocheting to diamond painting, her hands were always busy creating something beautiful. She also had a deep appreciation for the arts and nature—spending her time birdwatching, attending craft shows, watching classic Westerns, and traveling: especially to enjoy national parks and cruises. Her sense of adventure and her zest for life were inspiring to all who knew her.

Mary was also the proud author of her own book, A Walk with Jennifer, an encouraging testimonial based on a true story and dedicated to Jennifer’s three children. Being a writer was a testament to her strength, wisdom, and storytelling spirit that will live on in our hearts.

Above all, Mary loved being with her family and friends. Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of love. She lived her life with grace, courage, and an open heart—and those who knew her will carry her memory with them always.

Mary Richardson lived fully, gave generously, and loved deeply. She will be missed beyond measure.
