Mary Evelyn Karlewski, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary was born on June 11, 1924 and was one of five children. As a young woman, Mary met the love of her life and future husband Joseph Karlewski. Together they raised six children; Susan, Michael, Christine, Patti-Jo, Kenneth, and William. Mary loved being a mother, and was so overjoyed to become a grandmother, great-grandmother and most recently great-great-grandmother. She was passionate about antiques, and loved the collect figurines, angels and cardinals. Mary was a dedicated worker, she started her career at Sam and Walter’s Deli for three years, and then on to Chatham’s Supermarket as deli manager for over 27 years before retiring. After her retirement, she worked for 17 years as activity director at Dawns Home for Seniors. Mary’s catholic faith and her love of Christ Jesus was very important to her. Mary, throughout most of her years, always helped and donated to her beloved churches that she attended. Her giving spirit was known to all. Mary had the biggest heart, and donated her time, love, and meals to many. She also walked many miles with the March of Dimes to raise money for polio research and aid.
Mary’s beautiful spirit will be missed by all who loved her.
