Mary Jump, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away at the remarkable age of 103, on August 7, 2025. Born on March 20, 1922, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Mary was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. She was the daughter of James Pius and Ellanora Carrico, and from a young age, she exemplified resilience, creativity, and unwavering love.
On October 27, 1945, Mary married the late Bernard Jump, embarking on a beautiful journey together that would produce a legacy of love through their four children. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she nurtured her family with warmth and compassion, creating a home filled with laughter, support, and cherished memories.
Mary dedicated a significant part of her life to her work as a seamstress at Ford Motor Company, where her artistry and skill became well-regarded. She showed her devotion to her country during World War II by becoming a “Rosie the Riveter”. In her free time, she found joy in sewing, floral arranging, and engaging in various crafts, sharing her talents with those around her, and bringing beauty into their lives.
Throughout her long and fulfilling life, Mary touched countless hearts with her gentle spirit and boundless enthusiasm for her family and hobbies. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will always be remembered.
In this time of sorrow, let us come together to not only mourn her departure but to celebrate the beautiful, vibrant life she lived and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Mary Jump will be greatly missed, yet her spirit will forever remain in the tapestry of our lives.
