Lynn Earl Wattle, aged 76, passed away on May 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 29, 1947, in Caruthersville, Missouri, Lynn was welcomed into the world with his twin brother Glynn to parents Cecil and Josephine Wattle. A hardworking and skilled individual, Lynn, during his youth, met Pamela Finley, who would later become his cherished wife. Serving his country in the United States Army, Lynn returned home and married Pamela on April 4, 1970, at St. John Lutheran Church in New Haven. Together they shared a life filled with joy and love, raising two wonderful children, Tammy and Angela. Lynn's family was his pride and joy, and he found immense delight in his role as a grandfather, supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors, especially in sporting events and fishing trips.
Lynn was a pattern maker for 45 years and retired from Atlas Tool and Die in 2010
He liked to develop things and learned to build homes from his father. Known as a dedicated craftsman and builder, Lynn alongside his brother Glynn, constructed several homes over the years, showcasing his skill and determination. He loved vacationing with his family, reveling in western movies, country music, and he enjoyed family dinners. Devoted to his faith, Lynn and Pamela were longstanding members of St. John Lutheran Church, finding solace and community within their congregation.
Beloved husband of Pam Finley Wattle; loving father of Tammy Lynn (Thomas) Caruso, and Angela M. (Charles) Houghtaling; proud grandfather of Addison Caruso, Cameron Houghtaling, and Sydney Houghtaling; cherished brother of Victoria (Terry) Neild, Glynn (Jeannie) Wattle, Alice Higgins, and Alan (Kathleen) Wattle. Lynn is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lynn is preceded in passing by his parents Cecil and Josephine Wattle, and siblings Betty Barnes, Wilma Murphy, Jerry Ann Ponder, and Jackie Wayne Wattle.
Visitation to take place on Friday, May 31 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, June 1 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ray Twp. Instate, or gathering time, 9:30 AM. Service at 10:00 AM. Burial and military honors to follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Hurton.
