Lubie Astor, age 82 of Macomb, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family.
Lubie was born on November 6, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Lubie earned her bachelor’s degree at Wayne State University, and went on to earn her master’s in education at Oakland University. Lubie was a beloved teacher for over thirty years, specializing in special education and honors English. Lubie was a wonderful mother to her cherished children, Deborah, Christopher, Marina, and Michael. She was so overjoyed when she became “Baba” to her loving grandchildren later in her life. Lubie was a long-time parishioner at St. Marks Orthodox Church, where she volunteered her time, taught the Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She also loved to travel, adored spending time with her numerous friends, and when she was younger danced in the Eastern European Russian dancing troupe out of Wayne State University. However, the most important thing in her life was her dear family, and the time she was able to spend with them.
Lubie will be forever remembered by all who loved her.
Beloved mother of Christopher (fiancée Stephanie) Astor, Marina (Miguel) Garcia, and Michael (Shanna) Astor; proud ‘Baba’ of Amanda, Ashley, Jennah, Jordan, Anastasia, Helena, and Adam; and great-grandmother to one cherished baby on the way.
