**Obituary for Ligaya Floro Carandang**
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ligaya Floro Carandang on June 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Born to Victorino and Apolonia in the Philippines, Ligaya's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, devotion, and creativity. She was married to the late Cresenciano G. Carandang Sr. and was the proud mother of three children.
Cherished mother to Christian (Margret) Carandang, Catherine (Kenneth) Chi, and Cris (Marydel) Carandang; loved sister to Rodolfo (Alicia) Floro; proud grandmother to Alex, Jon (Shelby), Madie, Branden, Marisa, Collin, and Conner; beloved great-grandmother to Malcolm.
Ligaya was known for her generosity and giving nature, always putting her family and grandchildren first. She was a woman of many passions. She found joy in the simple things, immersing herself in books, piecing together puzzles, and crafting with her hands. Her love for animals was evident through her unwavering support of the humane society, where her donations became a cherished tradition. A true lover of cats and a huge fan of Princess Diana, Ligaya had a spirit that radiated warmth and kindness.
As an accountant for the City of Detroit, she brought diligence and integrity to her work. However, her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, who held her heart. She was nurturing and caring, leaving a legacy of love and faith that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Joined in Heaven by her loving parents Victorino and Apolonia, sister Milagros (Rolando) Calupe, and her dear husband Cresenciano G. Carandang Sr.
