Lawrence "Larry" Brodzik Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Frank Brodzik, age 71, passed away at home on November 12, 2020.

Larry was born on September 22, 1949 to Frank and Virginia Brodzik in Highland Park, Michigan. As a young man in high school, Larry would meet the love of his life, and future wife, Georgia. Fate would bring them to meet in no other place but a gas station, and it was love at first sight. Their young love bloomed, and after high school Larry and Georiga were married. Together they raised two children; Eric, and Cherie. It was not long after marriage that Larry was drafted into the Vietnam War at the age of 21. For two years, he served his country with dedication before being honorably discharged. After the Army, Larry attended Wayne State University and earned his degree in Mortuary Science in 1977. He was a funeral director at Duross Funeral Home in Warren. He later went on to sell high end medical equipment to doctors and hospitals for many years before returning to the funeral profession as a pre-need specialist. Larry had many passions and hobbies in his life, including bowling, golfing with friends, relaxing in the pool (always with some of his favorite songs playing in the background), and being a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren. Larry will be forever remembered as larger than life character that he was. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all that had the privilege to meet him forever.

Beloved husband of Georgia; cherished father of Eric, and Cherie Lynn; dearest grandfather of Tyler, Allysa, Madison, and Brooklyn; loving brother of Fran (Ted) Klimowski, Gary (Kathy) Brodzik, and the late Janice Spieker; dear uncle of Leah Spieker.

He is also survived by many extended loved ones and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 2-8PM. Funeral Service at 7PM at the funeral home.
