Larry Ronald Ode, age 83 of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022.
Larry was born on March 21, 1938 to Louis and Jemina Ode in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Larry met the love of his life and future bride, Mary VanHulle. They married on August 8, 1959 and together raised four boys; David, Daniel, Darin, and Derrick. In 1969, Larry opened his successful shop, Ode Auto Repair and Tire, which has been running for 53 years strong. And was the first shop in Michigan to bring custom wheels to its customers. Larry was a longtime Shriner, and one of few that had two consecutive terms as the Potentate. Working with the Shriners truly meant a lot to him, he enjoyed the good work that they did, and was the master of ceremonies for many of the Shriner events throughout the years. Larry had a passion for motorcycles, and was a member of the ‘Hells Our Home’ motorcycle club for many years. He also loved classic cars, owning his distinctive pink 1959 Ford Thunderbird and being a member of the Roll-N-Relix car club. Larry also enjoyed boating, and spending time with his cherished family and many, many friends.
Larry will be forever remembered by all who loved and knew him.
