On the morning of Saturday, 30 May 2026, Kristin Elizabeth Hodges (17 April 1971 - 30 May 2026) passed away peacefully in her sleep. She leaves behind her husband, Scott Edwin Hodges (b. 1970), and son, Adam Scott Hodges (b. 2009), and joins her daughter, Meryn Elizabeth Hodges (1 June 2004 - 24 July 2014), in Heaven.
Kristin Elizabeth (Brunet) Hodges was born on April 17, 1971, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to her mother Elizabeth (Galbraith) Langedock, and father Daniel Brunet. She was the “middle child” in the house, with her siblings Daniel and Kelly.
As a child, Kristin was a joy to have around—she loved to play outside, and was always happy. She loved playing with her childhood friends Julie and Joey, who lived next door. As she was growing up, she had typical, unavoidable experiences: sneaking off to Canada to drink, getting into teenage mischief with her friends, and getting her first job as a packer at Farmer Jack's.
Then, in 1998, her sister Kelly set Kristin up with a date at a Pizza Hut, where she met her future husband Scott Hodges. They ate inside the restaurant, then they went bowling and played pool. They eventually started dating, moved in together, and finally got married in 2002. The two quickly discovered a profound, unspoken bond through their shared experience of being born with hearing loss; they truly understood each other.
When it was time to have kids, after trying for a while, they were blessed with their daughter Meryn on June 1, 2004. Meryn suffered from her own medical problems, but eventually they were able to take their daughter home, and Kristin and Scott welcomed a new member to the family. Five years later, in 2009, Kristin gave birth to their son Adam, and the family welcomed him into the world.
To know Kristin was to know the unconditional love she had for her family. She spoke of her kids with immense pride and made their happiness and well-being her absolute highest priority. Supporting her children through every season of life, Kristin Hodges was, in every sense, the personification of "motherly love."
After 55 years, 19,341 levels of Candy Crush, and two beautiful children, Kristin Elizabeth Hodges departs this world for the next. She is joyfully reunited with her daughter Meryn, her father Daniel, and her sister Kelly.
