Kathryn Mary Goulah was born on July 15, 1976 and peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2025. She was 48 years old. Kathie was a loving sister to Sharon Kouba (Russell), Erin Brooks (Jim), and a cherished aunt to Jacob, Josiah, Elijah, Alan, Grace, Hayden, Jasper and Molly. Kathie is joined in Heaven with her mom and dad, Maureen and Edward “Ted” Goulah, and older sister, Julie Goulah Barron.
Kathie grew up in Eastpointe where she went to Assumption Grotto, St. Veronica and East Detroit High School. After high school, she went to MSU and spent her years working in mortgage services.
Kathie lived a full, rich, and beautiful life during her 48 years. She surrounded herself with family, friends, music and her church community. She was the middle child of three girls and many of her favorite stories were about her childhood. Kathie’s family was everything to her and she loved to retell and relive those special moments with anyone she talked to. She would reminisce about memories held dear with such love and detail. She stored those memories deep in her heart. She is now in Heaven with all her dear family members that have passed. There is no place she would rather be.
While Kathie developed many special relationships, she was extra proud to be an aunt. She adored her nieces and nephews unconditionally, showing them love as if they were her own. You would find Kathie at every family event, birthday party, or game to cheer them on with a smile on her face.
Kathie had a beautiful spirit exuding pure joy with a laugh to match! Anyone who knew her would recognize that infectious laugh. She had a genuine heart that loved all. She would talk to anyone whether she knew you forever or had just met you.
One of her many hobbies was knitting. Kathie was very creative and enjoyed spending hours making unique gifts. She took pride and joy in giving her creations and receiving a smile in return. She was able to turn one of her talents into a piece of herself that she could share with all.
Music was embedded deep in Kathie’s soul. She used her God given talent of singing to praise Jesus daily. She rejoiced singing everywhere, especially family gatherings, the St. Louis church choir and with the Motor City Blend Chorus of Sweet Adelines. What a joy that she now gets to sing her heart out in Heaven’s choir!
Kathie’s unwavering faith, abundance of love, loyalty and pride for family/friends, passion for music and infectious laugh will undoubtedly be missed by all. We take comfort in knowing that Kathie is rejoicing in the loving arms of her Lord; until we meet again.
