Kathleen Rose Kozey

Kathleen Rose Kozey, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023.

Kathleen was born on December 16, 1934 to Adam and Louise Mayer in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Kathleen would meet the love of her life, and future husband, Jim Kozey, while at a drive-in diner with her friends. They quickly fell in love, and was married on December 22, 1954 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Together, Kathleen and Jim would raise three beloved children; Jim, Mike, and Paula. Kathleen was the best mother, and she was so overjoyed to become a grandmother and great-grandmother later in her life. Her family truly meant the world to her, and every moment and memory she made with them she cherished. For 15 years, Kathleen worked as a title administrator for Michigan Auto Title Services before retiring in her early 80s. In her free time, Kathleen loved to visit the casinos to try her luck at the games and also enjoyed going to the racetrack with her husband to bet on the horses. Kathleen also loved movies (Secretariat, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, and Sweet Home Alabama being some of her favorites) and watching her television programs. However, the most important thing in Kathleen’s life was her family, and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beloved mother of Jim (Sherry) Kozey, Mike (Marie) Kozey, and Paula (Todd) Kozey; proud grandmother of Jimmy, Cameron, Stephanie, Amanda, Mikey, and Kyle; loving great-grandmother of Alyssa, Cameron, Maci, Logan, Brooke, Troy and Kaylan.

Kathleen is reunited with her beloved husband Jim Kozey, dear parents Adam and Louise Mayer, and sisters Barbara and Rosemary.

Visitation to take place on Friday, July 21 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Saturday, July 22 at the funeral home. Instate, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
