June Rose Gentner, age 92 of Macomb, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023.
June was born on June 9, 1930 to hard working farming parents, Francis and Anna Pasternacki, in Bad Axe, Michigan. Living through both the depression, and the tragic loss of her father Francis at a young age, had a profound effect on her and truly shaped June into the strong and independent woman she became to be. As a child, June would meet the little boy that would become her husband, Kenneth William Gentner. They married on October 25, 1947 in Harbor Beach, Michigan. Together, June and Kenneth raised six beloved children. As a mother, she was one of the best. June made sure to teach her children responsibility, and always led with love the way only a mother can do. As her children grew older, June and Kenneth welcomed the births of their cherished grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. Family truly meant the world with June, and she cherished every Sunday dinner and cozy Christmas Eves she was able to spend with them. June was known as being a fantastic cook and baker, making everything with love. Food truly was one of June’s love languages. June was a devoted and strong Catholic, being a long-time member of St. Francis-St. Maximilian, and later St. Isidore Catholic Church. In her free time, June enjoyed playing cards and puzzles with her family. June will be forever remembered by all who loved and cherished her.
Beloved mother of Joyce (Michael), Dale (Kristine), Kathryn (Mark), Kenneth E., and Michelle (Patrick); cherished grandmother of Jennifer, April, Randy, Cassie, Josh, John, Olivia, Patricia, Aundria, Jackie, Eric, Kevin, Katie, Kyle, Melanie, Diana, and Christina; loving great-grandmother of Lilyan, Nora, Sofia, Emma, Conner, Zander, Hunter, Luke, William, and Evelyn; dear sister of Ernestine, Beverly (Richard), and Gaylord (Sharon).
