Judith Bigelow

Judith Bigelow, age 71 of Macomb, passed away on June 20, 2022.

Judy was born on December 9, 1950, to Joseph and Jane Hartfelder in Detroit, Michigan. As a young woman, Judy met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Bigelow, who just finished his time in the military. They married in 1973 at the Our Lady Help of Christians in Hamtramck, Michigan. Together, Judy and Bob raised three cherished children: Jennifer, Marc, and Matthew. Judy was a wonderful mother, making sure she never missed her boys' sporting events, or Jennifer’s dance recitals. She was so overjoyed later in her years to become a grandmother to her five grandchildren, who were her world. Judy was a hard worker, working for over 25 years as a clerk, finally retiring from the Macomb County Treasury Department in 2010. In her free time, Judy loved to cook and bake, watch her favorite sports teams (she loved all the Michigan teams!), and play board games. Judy was incredibly artistic and a talented crafter and sewer. She was especially known for her delicious cake balls. There wasn’t much that Judy couldn’t craft or create for her family and friends. However, the most important thing in Judy’s life was her family and the time she was able to spend with them.

Judy will be forever remembered by all who love her.

Beloved wife of Bob Bigelow; loving mother of Jennifer (Michael) Ensroth, Marc (fiancée Kristy) Bigelow, and Matthew (Brittany) Bigelow; proud grandma of Sophia, Madelyn and Olivia Ensroth, Charlotte and Bennett Bigelow; dearest sister of Barbara (the late Gerald) Rachwal, Ronald (Kathleen) Hartfelder, and Donna (the late Kenneth) Serbenski. Judy was also survived by many loving family, and numerous friends.

Judy joins in heaven her cherished parents Joseph and Jane Hartfelder.

Visitation to take place on Monday, June 27 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM, with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, June 28 at St. Isidore Catholic Church located on 23 Mile Road and Romeo Plank in Macomb. Instate, or gathering time, 9:30 AM. Mass at 10:00 AM.
