It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Cruz Swain, a beloved mother and cherished friend, who left this world on June 15, 2025, at the age of 79 in Clinton Township, Michigan. Josephine was born on March 18, 1946, and dedicated her life to her family and her work, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Josephine spent a significant part of her career as an Insurance Administrator at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where she was known for her dedication, compassion, and tireless work ethic in the health care industry. Her commitment to her profession was only matched by her love for her family.
Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Ann Maputol (Marlon), her devoted son, Jerry Balanon (Maria Theresa); and her cherished grandson, David Balanon. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Josephine was known for her remarkable talents in the kitchen, her passionate crochet creations, and her love for nurturing flowers, which brought joy and beauty into her home. Her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit will be fondly remembered by family and friends alike.
Visitation will take place at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home,46530 Romeo Plank, Macomb, MI on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Josephine’s life will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan at 11:00 AM with and in state time of 10:30 AM. The family invites all those who knew and loved her to join them during this time of reflection and remembrance.
